Adamant bolts are a ranged projectile which is the 2nd strongest bolt in the game, they are fired from an adamantite crossbow or higher (requiring 46 or higher Ranged).
Mithril bolts are more cost effective if you are on a slim budget.
If a player wishes to create their own adamant bolts, one must obtain an adamantite bar. At 73 smithing, a player can create 10 unfinished adamant bolts per bar. A player must be level 61 fletching in order to complete the bolts. Feathers, unfinished bolts, and finished bolts are all stackable to the player's convenience. When feathering, each ten bolts yields 70 experience. If a player wishes to do so, they may attach diamond bolt tips at a fletching level of 65 or ruby bolt tips at a fletching level of 63.
Adamant bolts are generally considered a good in between bolt pricewise compared to the cheaper and weaker mithril bolts and the stronger yet significantly more expensive runite bolts.
They are an uncommon drop from Iron dragons, a useful source for Ironmen who lack the 73 smithing. As described above they can then be made in Ruby bolts (e), useful for boss fights. Runite limbs are also an uncommon drop and are one of the only, but by no means easiest, sources of a Rune crossbow.
A player with 55 Slayer and 61 Ranged may wish to instead use Broad bolts, as these are equally strong, yet are considerably cheaper. However, these cannot be fired by an Adamantite crossbow and require a Rune Crossbow or Armadyl crossbow (at 70+ Ranged) to use.
