Ankou are skeletal, ghostly monsters. They are popular monsters for their common death and blood rune drops.
The Salve amulet works on this monster as it is an undead creature.
They can be assigned as slayer tasks by Vannaka, Nieve/Steve, Krystilia and Duradel.
Currently, the fastest way of doing this task is by using Dwarf multicannon at western part of Revenant cave, although players should use caution using this method due to the hazards of both Revenants and PKers.
There is a safe spot at The Forgotten Cemetery, located behind the south west coffin, on the square between the bone spawns.
