An apple seedling is the result of planting an apple seed in a plant pot filled with soil.

To accomplish this, you need one apple seed, one gardening trowel, one filled plant pot and one watering can. To fill an empty plant pot with soil, take it, along with a rake and a gardening trowel in your inventory to any empty farming patch. Use the rake to weed the patch first, then use the plant pot on the patch. You then have a pot ready to plant your apple seed in.

Then use the apple seed on the plant pot and water using a watering can.

Once watered, the apple seedling becomes apple seedling (w). It will take approximately 210 seconds, or 3 1/2 minutes to grow into an Apple sapling. You need level 27 farming to plant the seed in a fruit tree patch.
