The Armour stand is a piece of furniture that can be built in the Workshop of a player-owned house with the Construction skill. It requires level 55 Construction, 8 oak planks and 1 limestone brick to build.
This piece of furniture is useful in its ability to repair armours such as Barrows equipment.
It costs less to repair Barrows equipment at an armour stand compared to paying Bob in Lumbridge. Stat boosts do affect the price of repair. Use the following calculator to figure the costs.
The formula used to calculate the cost at a repair stand is:
A player with a Smithing level of 60, for instance, would pay 70% of normal cost:
Simply put, every 2 levels you have in smithing, is 1% cheaper to repair armour using this compared to any NPC vendor.
Damaged armour can also be repaired at an armour stand and give a player a platebody of a random metal from bronze to mithril.
