Axeman's folly(m) detail

Mature axeman's folly is player-made ale, created by brewing via the Cooking skill. When drunk this item provides a temporarily boost to the player's Woodcutting level of 2. It is the stronger, or "mature" version of the standard Axeman's folly, which adds only one level to Woodcutting. Axeman's folly is most often used in quests with Woodcutting requirements that players do not already meet.

When brewing Axeman's folly, there is a somewhat random chance that the batch will turn out mature. As maturation occurs during the brewing process, leaving normal ale in the vat after it has finished brewing will not cause it to turn mature or go bad. The chance of getting a mature ale can be increased by adding The stuff to the vat after adding the barley malt, and before adding the hops (or in this case, root).

Effects

  • Temporarily increases Woodcutting by 2 levels
  • Heals 2 hitpoints
  • Temporarily reduces Attack and Strength by 4 levels

The full recipe for standard axeman's folly is as follows (in the order given):

  1. 2 Buckets of water
  2. 2 Barley malt
  3. (optional) 1 "The stuff," to increase chance of maturity.
  4. 1 Oak roots
  5. 1 Ale yeast
  6. Wait 1-2 days
  7. Collect the completed ale using 8 beer glasses or 2 calquat kegs
