The Barb-tailed kebbit is a Hunter creature, requiring 33 Hunter to catch. Deadfall trapping requires a knife and either a supply of normal logs or an axe. It is easier to carry an axe and cut trees as needed. The deadfall trap may be baited with raw rainbow fish, but this is optional. Some players believe barb-tailed kebbits are a more effective way of training hunter than larupias as the catch rate is high, offsetting the lower experience per catch.

Barb-tailed kebbits give 168 Hunter exp for each kebbit being successfully trapped.

Habitat

Only found in the Feldip Hunter area, just a little bit south-east of the Hunter Area icon. You can get there by using the Fairy Rings code AKS. Alternatively, you could use a castle wars teleport (requires a ring of duelling), or gnome glide to Feldip Hills then go south.
