Bird snares are available from the Hunter supply stores in Yanille and Nardah. They are also found in a box in the bank at Land's End at Zeah. These snares require no bait. They are set in Hunter areas to catch the various birds of RuneScape. Snaring birds always provides bones, raw bird meat, and feathers to be used in fishing or fletching.
At level 20 Hunter you can use 2 bird snares instead of one.
Players who intend on catching birds should note that the bird snare will fail to catch birds if the user is standing directly on the bird snare.
Bird snare states[]
There are three different possible states for bird snares:
- The initial state is the waiting state. While the bird snare is in this state, all you can do is to wait until it either fails to catch a bird or succeeds.
- The second state is the failed state. The bird snare falls into this state when it fails to catch a bird. While in the failed state, the bird snare is no longer able to catch a bird and the trap must be rebuilt.
- The third state is the success state. When the bird snare finally catches a bird, it falls into the success state and can be collected. When you collect your bird, the bird snare will automatically return to your inventory, along with bones, raw bird meat and feathers. It can then be placed again.
