Getting the required items
  +
First of all, to save time, get the items. Grab a cabbage from Edgeville Monastery near the Black Knights' Fortress or at the cabbage patch in the farm south of Falador (cabbage taken from Draynor Manor will not work; you will find out why during the quest), buy an iron chainbody from Wayne's Chains in Falador, and buy a bronze med helm from Peksa in Barbarian Village (or get one in the backroom of Draynor Manor). If your Smithing level is high enough (3 for the bronze medium helmet, and 26 for the iron chainbody), you can just smith the chain and the helmet. If not, you'll have to buy them from the shops listed above or buy them from the Grand Exchange.

Walkthrough
To start, speak to Sir Amik Varze on the 3 floor of the White Knights' Castle in western Falador. He may be found on the West side of the castle. Sir Amik will ask you to check on the Black Knights' Fortress and hand you a dossier of information. The fortress is located North of Ice Mountain, just South of the Wilderness wall. The fortress is not very far from Falador, so players may simply run North to reach it. However, members with a combat bracelet or amulet of glory may make use of the teleports that these items provide to reach the fortress in a shorter amount of time.

Starting out
  +
Items required: None.

  +
Talk to Sir Amik Varze, who can be found on the 3 of the western part of White Knights' Castle. He will tell you that he needs a spy. He wants you to spy on the Black Knights for him at their fortress located northeast of Falador near Ice Mountain. He wants you to find out what their new weapon is and destroy it. A free inventory space is needed for a dossier handed to you by Sir Amik Varze. The dossier will self-destruct once you read it, meaning that you could drop and then pick up an item if you have a full inventory.
To gain access to the fortress, you will need a bronze med helm and an iron chainbody. Additionally, you will need a cabbage after gaining access to the fortress. The cabbage can easily be picked from the Monastery to the East of Ice Mountain as it is on the way from Falador to the fortress.

Infiltrating the fortress
Note: If you are unsure as to whether or not you will be able to defeat (or survive against) Black Knights, there are three Black Knights located outside of the southern entrance to the Black Knights' Fortress against whom you may test your combat skills. If you feel that you cannot defeat the black knights, it is recommended to run past all of the knights as none are required to be defeated in order to complete the quest.

Make your way to the Black Knights' Fortress. It is northeast of the Dwarven Mine and the Oracle, northwest of the Monastery. Run through the Black Knights, as they will attack you because they are naturally aggressive. Enter the door to the south surrounded by guards. Make sure you are wearing the Iron chainbody and the Bronze med helm, or they won't let you enter.

  +
Once inside, the wall right in front of you can be pushed. Push it to enter a small room. Climb up the ladder in this small room and then up the ladder immediately to the right of it. Climb down the ladder just south, go through a door to the east and then up another ladder. Climb down the ladder beside the one you just came up and you will end up in a room with a chaos altar. Open the door and run to avoid the knights. Climb down the ladder to the southwest, and you will find yourself in a small room. In this small room, there should be a grill. Click on it to listen. You will hear a conversation between a witch and a goblin.
At the fortress
Before entering the fortress, equip the bronze med helm and the iron chainbody. Lower level players may wish to bring long-distance means of combat (Magic or Ranged) to defeat any Black Knights that may interrupt you. Enter the sturdy door (the guards' entrance) on the South side of the fortress. As you will be wearing the same equipment as all of the guards, you will be permitted entrance into the fortress.

  +
Sabotaging the secret weapon
Low level players are recommended to switch to any better armour that they may have once they have entered the fortress as the bronze med helm and iron chainbody will no longer be required. This may improve the chance of low level players' survival.

(If you are at low health from any previously encountered Black Knights, you can go to the Monastery located East of the Black Knights' Fortress and speak to a Monk to heal you)
After entering the fortress, go through the fake wall directly in front of you. Next, climb up two ladders (two floors up), and you will be on the roof. Go south and climb the ladder to go down one floor. You will see a door to your east; go through it into the adjacent room and take the ladder up. Take the ladder immediately to the East down, and you will find yourself in a room with an altar. Exit the room and climb down the ladder Southwest of the room. Go down the pathway, and you will find a ventilation grill at the end. Listen at the grill, and you will overhear a conversation below you. The Black Knights have commissioned a witch to brew them an invincibility potion, and will need to find a way to stop them.

  +
Follow the ladders back to the room with the false wall, and try to open the door to the east where many Black Knights are walking around a table. You will be stopped from opening the door, since a guard will talk to you. You may have to kill an aggressive black knight in the room before you can complete the dialog. If you are having trouble with the aggressive knight, you should hop worlds. You could also try to lure him away and quickly confirm the door dialog by pressing spacebar, 2, spacebar. He will say that there is an important meeting going on and they'll kill anyone who gets in. Say you don't care and that you're going in anyway. Run from the knights and climb up the ladder on the northern wall of the room. Walk east and south and look for a wall you can push. Push the wall to see a hole. Right-click your cabbage so that you do not eat it, and use it with the hole that should be in the room. You will hear the witch groan, meaning you destroyed the weapon.

  +
Return to Falador
Make sure you have a cabbage with you, and return to the entrance of the castle. This time, instead of going through the wall immediately in front of you, go to the East, next to the door, there is a Black Knight you have to kill. Go into the room with a large banquet hall, and then go up the ladder. Head along the hallway and go through the wall at the end. You will be in a room with a large hole in the floor.

  +
Items required: None.

  +
Now, go back to Sir Amik Varze, and tell him you sabotaged the weapon. When he is done talking, you will have finished the quest, and have received your award.
Right-click on your cabbage and use it on the hole. Make sure you right-click the cabbage as left-clicking it will result in your player eating it. Doing so will require you to get another cabbage and return back to the fortress. After you throw the cabbage down the hole, the potion will be ruined, and the Black Knights' plans will have been foiled.

Setting up

Getting the required items

Walkthrough

Starting out

Items required: None.

Talk to Sir Amik Varze, who can be found on the 2nd floor[?] of the western part of White Knights' Castle.

Infiltrating the fortress

Items required: An iron chainbody and a bronze med helm.

Black Knights' Fortress - Area

The fortress is due northeast of Falador and slightly west of the Monastery.

Sabotaging the secret weapon

Items required: A cabbage.

(If you are at low health from any previously encountered Black Knights, you can go to the Monastery located East of the Black Knights' Fortress and speak to a Monk to heal you)

Black Knights' Fortress - Cauldron

Dropping the cabbage creates a strange reaction.

Return to Falador

Items required: None.

Now, go back to Sir Amik Varze, and tell him you sabotaged the weapon. When he is done talking, you will have finished the quest, and have received your award.
