Template:RSW The Black cane is obtained as a reward from Level 1 treasure trails. As opposed to standard black items, only level 8 Attack is needed to equip this item. It is not used often as a weapon, since it is essentially a weaker version of the black mace, although some players use it as a show of wealth. The black cane is often worn with Elegant clothing in a further show of wealth, such as a top hat, the elegant clothing and Pirate boots to create the look of a wealthy gentleman. Like other black items, a black cane cannot be made. Like all treasure trail items, the cane can be stored in a Treasure chest in a Player-owned house.
This cane is topped with a cut ruby gem. The cane is popular because of its looks, going well with black clothing as well as appearing most like a cane to Skill pure players and players who have high combat levels. As a result, its price has risen and now sells for substantially more than its adamant and rune counterparts, despite them being both better weapons and rewards from higher-level treasure trails. On closer inspection, the main body of the cane is in fact a very dark blue colour.
As with all black and white equipment, the Black cane cannot be made from raw materials using the Smithing skill.
