Black robes are the most basic piece of chest armour for low level mages. It comes in two colors; blue and black. Black robes are dropped by level 7 and 20 dark wizards, shadow warriors and ankous. These can be used instead of wizard robes.

Players will often wear the black robes with the black wizard hat and black skirt for aesthetics, however the hat is weaker than gnome or werewolf hats, and the skirt provides no bonuses at all. The black robe can be worn with priest robe skirt, which provides a prayer bonus.
