The black scimitar is a scimitar with a slightly higher attack bonus than the steel scimitar. It requires level 10 attack to wield.

As with all black and white equipment, the Black scimitar cannot be made from raw materials using the Smithing skill.

A black scimitar can be found in King Lathas' Castle in East Ardougne. It requires level 61 thieving to access, along with a lockpick.

-[[Member]]s can find a respawn for them in [[Ardougne]] Castle. This is one of the few ways, other than completing treasure trails, of getting a black scimitar. You can make good money from taking black scimitars as well! All you have to do is go to ardougne castle, take the scimitar and then switch worlds (the scimitar will then be on the other world unless someone has already taken it). The respawn time on each world is about 12 minutes 20 seconds. Before an update in early 2009, the black scimitar was behind a locked [[door]] which needed to be right-clicked and ''Pick lock'' selected. The door was moved further east to reach a [[Thieving]] Paladin chest. The black scimitar is currently the third most expensive scimitar, behind the rune and dragon (members only) scimitars.
