The Black scimitar is a scimitar with a slightly higher attack bonus than the steel scimitar. It can only be used in combat. Black scimitars are considered to be rare and expensive in free-to-play servers.
As with all black and white equipment, the Black scimitar cannot be made from raw materials using the Smithing skill.
Members can find a respawn for them in Ardougne Castle. This is one of the few ways, other than completing treasure trails, of getting a black scimitar. The respawn time is about 12 minutes 20 seconds. Before an update in early 2009, the black scimitar was behind a locked door which needed to be right-clicked and Pick lock selected. The door was moved further east to reach a Thieving Paladin chest. The black scimitar is currently the third most expensive scimitar, behind the rune and dragon (members only) scimitars.
