Cave bugs can be assigned as Slayer assignments, and require level 7 Slayer to kill. They are found in the Lumbridge Swamp Dungeon, and give 5 Slayer experience per kill. They often drop low level herbs, making them a good source to help train Herblore for beginners.
The alternative of these are level 96 cave bugs which can be found in the Dorgesh-Kaan dungeon, along with the lower levelled ones as well. It should be noted that these seem to regenerate HP quite quickly, so you may find yourself taking a while to kill them if you don't hit high or often enough.
The Dorgesh-Kaan South Dungeon can be entered by taking the Lumbridge Cellar cave after completing the Death to the Dorgeshuun quest, or by taking the hole found in Lumbridge Swamp. Note that you must have a light source before entering any one of these entrances. Also note, you must bring a rope to enter the hole in the swamp for your first time there. If you do not have a light source, there is an NPC standing next to the Lumbridge Swamp dungeon entrance willing to sell a candle for 1,000 coins, although it is highly recommended to use an oil lantern or a bullseye lantern inside the caves. Otherwise light sources can be bought at Catherby or made using the Smithing skill.
The dungeon is also filled with wall beasts, which can attack while moving between areas of the dungeon. To avoid being hit, either stand one square directly beside a hole in the wall and run across to the other side, or equip a spiny helmet.
Killing one of these at Lumbridge Swamp is also a requirement for Lumbridge & Draynor easy Diary.
