Old School RuneScape uses the British convention for floor numbering: Ground floor, first floor, etc.
For the monster spawned while fighting the Nechryarch, see Chaotic death spawn.

Death spawns appear when players try to kill normal or Greater Nechryaels. When attacked, they may summon up to two Death spawns to help attack the player. While having an extremely low max hit of 2, they are able to hit through protection prayers.

RuneScape treats death spawns as if they are not there. Players under attack by death spawns will not attack them even if Auto Retaliate is on. In the Slayer Tower and Stronghold Slayer Cave (which are single-way areas), death spawns can attack the player even if they are under attack by another death spawn or a Nechryael. The player cannot attack the death spawn(s) until they kill the Nechryael they are in combat with. Home teleports are also unaffected by the death spawns attacks. Despite this, they can still interrupt conversation with other NPCs.

After being summoned by a Nechryael, the death spawn will despawn after some time has passed, regardless if it is attacking the player or not. Other players can also attack the death spawn even if they do not have 80 Slayer.
