Eclectic implings are implings that can be caught in the Impetuous Impulses minigame, and are located throughout Puro-Puro and Gielinor. The player needs at least 50 Hunter to capture this type of impling with a butterfly net or a magic butterfly net, or at least 60 Hunter to capture it barehanded. Capturing an eclectic impling will grant the player either 30 Hunter experience (if caught on Puro-Puro) or 34 Hunter experience (if caught on RuneScape).
Upon jarring the impling, the player can either trade with Elnock Inquisitor or can loot the eclectic impling jar, which will leave an item behind. The player can either trade one eclectic impling for 3 impling jars, or can trade 3 essence implings, 2 eclectic impings and one nature impling for a jar generator.
Often, people will "camp" an eclectic impling respawn point in Puro-Puro, looting and keeping the stackable drops, such as air runes, adamant ore, gold bars, oak planks,and watermelon seeds. One of the best respawn points is the northwest corner of Puro-Puro, as there is a better chance for the impling to be trapped against the wall so it can't run away.
It should be noted that camping these implings is one of the fastest methods to obtain a medium clue scroll, as eclectic implings drop them at a rate of 1/25, as opposed to more commonly camped NPCs such as Guards (which have a drop rate of 1/125, or 1/114 in Falador with the medium Falador diary completed), and can be looted faster than Guards when done quick.
The chance of getting a common drop is 1/10, while the chance of getting a rare drop is 1/100.[1] At current Grand Exchange prices, this means the average eclectic impling provides approximately −2,354.81 worth of loot.
