Ecumenical key detail

An ecumenical key is an item dropped by all monsters (excluding aviansies) in the Wilderness God Wars Dungeon east of the Forgotten Cemetery. A player can use the key to instantly access the boss room of any one of the four Godwars bosses (General Graardor, Kree'arra, Commander Zilyana and K'ril Tsutsaroth), without having to obtain 40 kill-count. Once the key has been used it will disappear from the player's inventory.

Note: If a player has 40 kill-count for a respective boss as well as an ecunemical key in their inventory, entering the boss's room will consume the 40 kill-count instead of the key.

Drop rate

An ecumenical key's base drop rate is 1/60. As the player owns more keys it becomes more uncommon, decreasing from 1/60 to 1/70 to 1/80, until the player possesses three keys, in which players will be unable to pick up additional keys. However, upon completion of the medium and hard Wilderness Diary players are able to own 4 and 5 keys, respectively, in which case the drop rate becomes 1/60 to 1/60 to 1/60 to 1/70 to 1/80.[1]. There is also a cooldown period lasting a few minutes in which you can't obtain another key.[2]

Trivia

  • The key has a similar purpose as soulstones in RuneScape 3, although soulstones require kill count to work.
