The ecumenical key is an item dropped by all monsters, excluding aviansies, in the Wilderness God Wars Dungeon east of the Forgotten Cemetery. When used it is able to instantly access the boss rooms of all four gods: General Graardor, Kree'arra, Commander Zilyana and K'ril Tsutsaroth, without the need for 40 kill-count. Once the key has been used it will disappear from the player's inventory.
An ecumenical key's base drop rate is 1/60. As the player owns more keys it becomes more uncommon, decreasing from 1/60 to 1/70 to 1/80, until the player possesses three keys, in which players will be unable to pick up additional keys. However, upon completion of the medium and hard Wilderness Diary players are able to own 4 and 5 keys, respectively, in which case the drop rate becomes 1/60 to 1/60 to 1/60 to 1/70 to 1/80.[1]. There is also a cooldown period lasting a few minutes in which you can't obtain another key.[2]
Trivia
- The key has a similar purpose as soulstones in RuneScape 3, although soulstones require kill count to work.
