Fairy rings can be used to travel around RuneScape conveniently. The requirements to use the fairy rings is to have started Fairy Tale II - Cure a Queen and be holding a Dramen staff or Lunar staff.
Upon the completion of the Lumbridge and Draynor Elite Diary, the ability to use fairy rings without the need for a staff is rewarded.
When using the "main portal" fairy ring in Zanaris, the travel log will pop up. This is a list of rings to which you have recently traveled. This is useful, as you can just click on the ring code in the travel log and the code will be automatically entered.

Trivia
- When attempting to use the fairy ring network without a dramen staff or Lunar staff, the message, "The Fairy rings only work for those who wield fairy magic", appears. Even when wielding the magic secateurs the message will appear and you will not be allowed to use the fairy rings. Some believe these to be fairy magic, but this is untrue as this is magic given by the nature spirit.
- When using a fairy ring any item equipped in the off-hand slot will momentarily disappear.
