Vampires are dangerous creatures found in the Haunted Woods, east of Canifis and near the Abandoned Mine. They are aggressive, and will attack anyone. They appear to be a weaker, more animalistic creature than Vampyres, and can be harmed by all weapons. Vampires always drop Vampire Dust. Having garlic in your inventory greatly weakens vampires.
They will occasionally bite players, which can sometimes drain combat stats and non-combat stats and will cause the vampire to recover a small amount of hitpoints. Vampires also heal 1 hit point when attacked, similar to Banshees. The chance of this can be decreased by wearing a holy symbol, but not entirely prevented. Salve Amulet and Crumble Undead do NOT work on vampires as they aren't undead.
The level 72 vampires are significantly harder to kill than the level 61 vampires. They will only spawn when the spiders are staring at you, so if you want to avoid them, stay away from the spiders.
