The banner hung after defeating the Zombie Champion.
The Giant Champion can only be fought after receiving the Giant's Champion Scroll as part of the Champion's Challenge minigame. He is the greatest warrior to the giant race. Special rules are set, so that you can only use melee when fighting him.
