Gloves of silence are members-only gloves from the Hunter skill. To make a pair of gloves of silence, players must bring two (unnoted) Dark kebbit furs from the Falconry hunting zone (level 57 Hunter) and 600 coins to the Fancy Dress Shop in south-east Varrock. To wear the gloves of silence, players need at least level 54 Hunter.
They reduce your chance of failure while pickpocketing by 5%. They eventually break after 62 failed pickpockets. Before they break, they can be repaired by using one dark kebbit fur on them, while having one spool of thread, a knife, and a needle in your inventory. Repairing them requires level 64 Crafting. Repairing the gloves does not grant Crafting experience points to the player.
These gloves will not degrade if thieving in Ardougne or Gielinor if the medium or hard Ardougne diaries are completed respectively. This is due to the fact that the effect the cloak provides (10%) is higher than that of the gloves and does not stack; therefore, these gloves become completely obsolete after the hard Ardougne diary is completed[1].
It is important to note that the effect the Ardougne cloaks provide towards thieving success is always active; in other words, the cloak does not need to be worn for the effect to take place.
