Golden nuggets are obtained in the Motherlode Mine by searching the sack after cleaning the pay-dirt at a rate of 2.74% per pay-dirt (expected value: 1 nugget per 36.5 pay-dirt), independent of mining level[1]. They can be traded in for various rewards from Prospector Percy's Nugget Shop.
At current values, based on the price of Soft clay pack/Soft clay each golden nugget is worth 2,130 coins.
Likewise, based on the average value of Bag full of gems (30,528.8), each golden nugget is worth 763.22 coins.
