(i am 95% sure that was written by people who use the Seedpod to make people think they can antilure, and do another strategy. Regardless, an informative wiki page should not have tips on things like this.)

Grand seed pod detail

The Grand seed pod can be obtained as a rare reward from Wingstone and Penwie in the Gnome Restaurant minigame[1]. Seed pods are stackable. They can take you to the Grand Tree, and have two right-click options: launch and squash. Launching the seed pod will take you to the Grand Tree, by means of Captain Lamdoo and a glider, but can only be used outdoors. This option will also give the player 100 Farming experience. Squashing the seed will take you to the Grand Tree faster than Launching it, but you will not get the 100 Farming experience, and you will temporarily lose 5 Farming levels. Neither method can be used past level 30 Wilderness. Each seed pod is one time use only.

This is a common item used to lure many players. Most of these lures involve the victim dropping valuable items then proceeding to Squash or Launch the pod. References
