Haystacks are piles of hay found throughout RuneScape, especially on farms. Haystacks can be Searched with a chance of finding: nothing, a needle, or of losing 1 Hitpoint. If an empty sack is used on a haystack (or hay bale), a player will get a hay sack, which can be used for a scarecrow. When examined, you will see "I bet there's a needle in there somewhere." This is a reference to the idiom, "needle in a haystack." When a needle is found, the player says, "Wow! A needle! Now what are the chances of finding that?" One hay bale can be found just north-east of Draynor.
