The initiate cuisse is a piece of Temple knight armour that requires 20 Defence, 10 Prayer, and completion of the Recruitment Drive quest to equip. It provides a small prayer bonus that matches the Monk's robe, while retaining the defensive bonuses of Mithril platelegs, and is commonly used during slayer tasks that require the use of protection prayers, as the armour reduces the drain of prayer points.
If lost, another cuisse can be bought for 8,000 coins, but is usually much cheaper to buy from the Grand Exchange.
