Farmers can be paid 6 barley malts to watch over the hops patch for the player.

- Ten jute fibres can be used as payment for a farmer to watch an allotment of sweetcorn.
- Four can be woven into a sack using a loom. This requires a Crafting level of at least 21 and grants 38 experience.
- Two can be woven into a drift net using a loom. This requires a Crafting level of at least 26 and grants 55 experience.
- You need to plant some jute for an easy Kandarin Diary task
