Limpwurt roots are used in the Herblore skill to make strength potions and super strength potions. They are also used in free-to-play to obtain strength potions and energy potions from the apothecary.
Free players can easily obtain limpwurt roots from both hill giants and hobgoblins.
Limpwurt roots can also be grown from limpwurt seeds using the Farming skill. They require 26 Farming to plant and harvest. One seed can produce a minimum of 3 roots, where the Farming level reduces the chance of using up one of the three "lives" of the patch, much like harvesting herb patches.
20 Unnoted limpwurt roots must be given to Winelda during the Temple of Ikov quest.

Trivia
- According to the official bestiary, hobgoblins often chew limpwurt roots, which explains the common drop of these roots for hobgoblins.
- After an update on August 23 2018, Nechryael and Kurasks no longer dropped noted limpwurt roots causing the price to increase.
