The Magpie impling is the fourth highest impling that can be caught in the Impetuous Impulses minigame, and are located throughout Puro-Puro and Gielinor. Players needs at least 65 Hunter (or level 62-64 with a hunter potion) to capture this type of impling. Capturing a Magpie impling will grant the player either 44 Hunter experience if caught in Puro-Puro, or 216 Hunter experience if caught outside of Puro-Puro, throughout Gielinor.
The Magpie impling is one of the three most commonly hunted implings, the other two being the Ninja impling and Dragon impling. This is due to the value of the loot from the Magpie impling being decently high.
They could be caught with a butterfly net and magic butterfly net, and Bind, Snare, and Entangle may be used to stop them from moving for a brief period of time. This makes catching them much easier, as they may fly over water if not caught on the first attempt.
Upon jarring the impling, the player can either trade with Elnock Inquisitor for three empty jars (strongly advised against) or can free the impling from the magpie impling jar, which will leave an item behind.

Looting a Magpie impling jar can result in getting any of these items. All common drops are 1/20, with the exception of Black dragonhides, which is 1/10.
