Rotten food is food that has been attacked by ghasts in Mort Myre Swamp. It is inedible and almost useless, where the only use is to have it converted to stew by Abidor Crank encountered rarely during the Temple Trekking minigame.
Players can prevent ghasts rotting their food by:
- Travelling direct to the desired location mitigating the need to travel through Mort Myre Swamp.
- Fill the druid pouch obtained during the quest Nature Spirit, to turn all ghasts who attempt to attack the player into attackable foes who can simply be walked past without risk of rotting the player's food.
Rotten food is obtained during the Zogre Flesh Eaters quest, when the player searches the backpack found deep within the Jiggig crypts.
It cannot be used to make Compost.
