The rune axe is the fourth best axe in the game, behind the dragon axe, 3rd age axe and Infernal axe. It can be used for combat or in Woodcutting to cut trees. Players can make a rune axe with the Smithing skill at level 86 using 1 runite bar, granting 75 Smithing experience.
Rune axes can be purchased from Perry's Chop-chop Shop in the Woodcutting Guild on Great Kourend. They can also be obtained from monster drops, or as a common reward from a hard clue scroll.
Players must have an Attack level of 40 to wield the rune axe as a weapon and a Woodcutting level of 41 to use it to chop down trees.
