The rune full helm is currently the best full helmet available to non-members. To wear this helmet, the player needs at least 40 Defence. A rune full helm can be obtained from monster drops, as a treasure trail reward, via the Smithing skill, or by trading with another player. Free players may get rune full helms as drops from greater demons, ogress warriors, and Obor, or by smithing. This is among the most common rune item dropped, along with rune arrows, scimitars, and medium helms.
Rune full helms are preferred over rune med helms in almost all circumstances; the only reason a rune med helm would be used in place of the full helm variety is if the player is low on funds and cannot afford the additional outlay.
To create a rune full helm, the player needs at least level 92 Smithing, a hammer and two rune bars. Smithing a rune full helm on an anvil grants 150 Smithing experience.
