Rune nails are the strongest type of nail in RuneScape. They are made by using a runite bar on an anvil with a hammer in the player's inventory, requiring level 89 in smithing and receiving 15 rune nails and 75 Smithing experience per bar.
They can be used to construct certain types of wooden furniture. Rune nails rarely break, but are expensive relative to other types of nails.
In addition, fifteen rune nails are used in crafting a black d'hide shield, alongside a redwood shield and two pieces of black dragon leather, requiring 83 Crafting and granting 172 experience.
Lastly, they are used on flighted ogre arrows to create rune brutal arrows, requiring 77 Fletching and granting 12.5 experience per arrow.
