A spawn maturing into a scion.
Scions are matured spawns during the fight with the Abyssal Sire. The spawn matures into a scion if it is not killed within 12 seconds. Scions boast more health, accuracy and damage.
Like the Abyssal Sire, scions can hit through protection prayers, dealing up to 6 damage. The scion automatically dies when the Sire is killed or if it cannot reach the player for a prolonged period of time.

- Upon release, scions simply appeared as a larger version of spawns that were encountered during the fight with the Abyssal Sire. They were given a graphical update three weeks later in an update on 22 Ocotober 2015.
