Shark detail

Sharks can be fished by players who have level 76 Fishing or higher and requires level 80 Cooking to cook. They heal 20 Hitpoints each. Sharks are fished with harpoons. They can also be fished without harpoons (with the barbarian fishing method) but require a Fishing level of 96 and a Strength level of 76 and partial completion of Barbarian Training.

Sharks give 110 Fishing experience per catch and 210 Cooking experience when cooked. Players stop burning sharks at level 99 Cooking with a Cooking cape equipped, level 94 when wearing cooking gauntlets, or level 89 when wearing cooking gauntlets while cooking at the Hosidius House kitchen.

Sharks are the most popular food item in RuneScape, as they are high-healing and can be easily caught in large amounts. There are a few better foods, such as sea turtles and manta rays from the Fishing Trawler minigame, dark crabs from the Wilderness, and anglerfish in Zeah. However, these are difficult to obtain in large amounts, making them expensive and rare. Because of this, sharks are widely used for player killing, dueling, general monster killing and questing.
