A Skill pure or also known as skiller is a type of pure that only develops non-combat skills. Skill pures keep their Combat levels on level 3. This makes it challenging to gain levels, as some high areas have high-leveled monsters to be defeated, and some simply requires quests with combat involved.
Skill pures are recommended to equip a Training bow, standard bow, standard crossbow, or a phoenix crossbow without wielding any ammo. This is to prevent any combat if a monster is accidentally clicked on.
Quests
The following quests are possible to be completed by skill pures as they do not give exp to remain on level 3. Some quests require food and Rings of recoil.

Notes (quests)
- ↑ In Shield of Arrav, you have to choose the Black Arm Gang. Thought it will require you to have kill someone, your partner can kill it for you, unlike the Phoenix gang.
- ↑ Thought it is possible to kill the Earth elemental with rings of recoil, you will not get the ore from him though, as you need to attack him to get drops.
- ↑ In Hazeel Cult, you must choose Hazeel's side to prevent combat.
- ↑ In Lost City, you have to kill a Dramen Tree Spirit, so you'll have to bring Rings of recoil and a ton of food.
- ↑ Merlin's Crystal requires you to kill someone too, you'll also have to bring Rings of recoil and food.
- ↑ Thought the quest is possible to be finished by a skill pure, the mini-game wouldn't make any sense though, since your reward would be experience on the lowest skill.
Activities
There are also certain activites a skill pure can do. Activities listed below are possible to be done when keeping it at level 3.
- Barbarian Assault [1]
- Castle Wars
- Duel Arena [2]
- Burthorpe Games Room
- Sorceress's Garden
- Rogue's Den
- Rogue Trader
- Gnome Restaurant
- Fishing Trawler
Notes (activities)
- ↑ A skill pure is recommended to be at the Collector role. For he or she can stand near the cannons and only pick up eggs when there are no more monsters around.
- ↑ The opponent of the skill pure must forfeit for him or her to win, which is simply useless, as no reward is given except for stake duels.
Strategies
Certain non-combat skills help skill pures in combat, specifically defending. These skills are extremely helpful and recommended to be trained.
Skill | Uses |
---|---|
Slayer | Gives access to more equipment. |
Agility | Reduces energy usage rate, for quests with monsters on paths. |
Herblore | Gives access to untradeable potions. |
Some skill pures also have a set-up when doing quests or activities involving combat. Here's a common one that keeps the items up to three to prevent losing items.
Slot | Equipment used |
---|---|
Main hand | Training bow (prevents combat, looks better) |
Boots | Boots of lightness (reduces weight) |
Ring | Ring of recoil (deals damage to enemies) |
