The Steam battlestaff is a medium power steam elemental staff. It requires 30 Attack and Magic to wield and provides an unlimited amount of water and fire runes. Steam battlestaves are dropped only by K'ril Tsutsaroth and his bodyguards, Balfrug Kreeyath, Tstanon Karlak, and Zakl'n Gritch.

The steam battlestaff was released on 17 October, 2013 as part of the God Wars Dungeon update. Visually the steam battlestaff is identical to the Mystic steam staff.

It can be made into a Mystic steam staff by Thormac for a fee of 40,000 coins after completing the Scorpion Catcher quest. This gives it additional crush and strength bonuses.

Players can use a steam staff upgrade kit, obtained from the Bounty Hunter Store, to cosmetically enhance their steam battlestaff, creating a steam battlestaff (or). This only alters its appearance, and becomes untradeable. It can be reverted, but the kit will not be retained.

The staff provides both unlimited water and fire rune spells.

This means that you can use spells without losing any fire and/or water runes.

The following spells require both water and fire runes:
