The Steel battleaxe is a battleaxe stronger than the iron battleaxe, but weaker than the Mithril battleaxe. Like all Steel weapons, it requires 5 attack to wield. It can only be used in combat. Players can make a steel battleaxe with the smithing skill at level 40 using 3 steel bars, giving the player 112.5 smithing experience. Players can purchase this battleaxe from Brian's Battleaxe Bazaar in Port Sarim or from Bob's Brilliant Axes in Lumbridge. As with any wieldable that can be smithed at an equal or greater level than the level required to smith this item, it is recommended to be high alched if the item came from a monster drop. Phil in the Lumber Yard appears to be carrying a steel battleaxe.
