Steel claws are a two handed melee weapon that are member's only. To wield them the player must have at least level 5 Attack.
Steel claws can be obtained either by using the Smithing skill to make a pair, trading with another player, formerly by completing the Death Plateau quest, or purchasing them from Martin Thwait in the Rogue's Den for 175 coins. The requirements for making them are completing the Death Plateau quest and 43 Smithing. To make them use a steel bar (with another in the inventory) on an anvil with a hammer in the inventory. This will grant the player 75 Smithing experience.
Steel claws can be purchased for less than their low alchemy value, making them suitable for alchemizing with an Explorer's ring for a small profit as well as Magic experience. While 2 claws are wielded only one is used in the combat animations, except for the special attack of Dragon or Rune claws .
