The steel full helm is the third weakest full helm in RuneScape. The steel full helm grants greater defensive bonuses than its medium helmet counterpart, though at a cost of offensive bonuses for Range and Magic. To wear this helmet the player needs at least 5 Defence. To obtain a steel full helm the player can either buy one from the Helmet Shop in the Barbarian Village, obtain one as a monster drop, make one using the Smithing skill, trade with another player.
To create a steel full helmet the player needs at least 37 Smithing, a hammer and two steel bars. To make a helmet use one of the bars on an anvil with the hammer in the inventory. This will grant the player 75 Smithing experience.
Members with 16+ Construction can use a steel full helmet on a pluming stand to make a steel heraldic helm, a steel full helm designed in the colours of the player's family crest. Family crests are obtained from Sir Renitee in Falador Castle.
