Template documentation[edit] [purge]
This documentation is transcluded from Template:Metal item/doc.

The Metal item template is used on the pages of items that are from a group of items made from different metals and get progressively better depending on the metal they are made from.

Usage

It is very versatile so that it can be used on different pages. There are various optional fields that control how this template appears, and they are listed below:

  • item: This field is required, and should not capitalised. It is the name common to all of the metal items of its type, and the template adds a prefix depending on the type of metal to this entry. For example, if item=sword, there will be a link to Bronze sword, Iron sword, etc. There also would be a link to Sword, the page that contains all of the metal items in the group.
  • group: This field is optional. If specified, it will become the name of the group page that the template links to. Normally the template would use the name specified in the item field, but in certain cases this may not be the proper page that contains information about all of the metal items in the group. In that instance, a different page can be linked to through the group field.
  • blurite: This field is optional. If there is a metal item of the group made of blurite, add blurite=yes. If there is not a blurite item in the group, do not add blurite=no, just remove the blurite field.
  • black: This field is optional. If there is no metal item from the group made of black, add black=no. If there is a black item in the group, do not add black=yes, just remove the black field.
  • white: This field is optional. If there is no White Knight item from the group, add white=no. If there is a White Knight item in the group, do not add white=yes, just remove the white field.
  • dragon: This field is optional. If there is a metal item of the group made of dragon, add dragon=yes. If there is not a dragon item in the group, do not add dragon=no, just remove the dragon field.
  • barrows: This field is optional. If there is a metal item of the group made of Barrows, add barrows=Item. If there is not a Barrows item in the group, do not add barrows=no, just remove the barrows field. This field has been added specifically for Barrows weapons.
  • basic: This field is optional. If there is a metal item of the group made of the most basic material, add basic=yes. If there is not a basic item in the group, do not add basic=no, just remove the basic field. This field has been added specifically for Basic gloves.
  • additional: This field is optional. If creates another line below the automatically generated one and is to manually add items that fit the group but are not made from the basic metals. If additional=smithing, the additional bars that can be created through Smithing will be added.
  • heraldic: This field is optional. If present, three lines will be added below the standard set of items. The lines will contain links to black, adamant, and rune heraldic versions of the item. Specify where the links point using the parameter: for example, if you need to link to Black helm (h1) (and adamant and rune versions, with variants of all), use heraldic=helmet.
  • temple: This field is optional. If present, one line will be added below the other items. The line will contain links to initiate and proselyte versions of the item. Specify where the links point using the parameter: for example, if you need to link to Initiate sallet, use temple=sallet.

Examples

So, for example, the template can have only one field:

{{Metal item|item=platebody}}

Or many fields:

{{Metal item|item=crossbow|group=Crossbows|black=no|blurite=yes|dragon=yes}}
