Tuna detail.png

Tuna is a food item made by cooking raw tuna on a fire or a range. Cooking raw tuna yields 100 Cooking experience. Doing so requires a Cooking level of 30. In comparison to foods such as lobster and swordfish, tuna does not heal a great amount of hitpoints (healing 10 hitpoints), but is a great food source for lower level combat training and is fairly cheap.

Players stop burning tuna at level 63 Cooking on a range (64 on a fire) or at level 62, if using the cooking gauntlets. Cooking tuna is a cost-effective way of achieving level 99 Cooking, although significantly slower than cooking other higher level fish, such as lobsters, swordfish and sharks. Cooking tuna yields around 100,000 experience per hour, where the maximum number of fish that can usually be cooked in an hour is around 1,000.

It can be used with sweetcorn to make tuna and corn, which heals a bit more than regular tuna. The cost of tuna can be made to profit this way. It requires a Cooking level of 30 to cook, yielding 100 experience. Potato with butter can also be added with tuna-and-sweetcorn to create a tuna potato, yielding another 10 experience and a higher healing food.

Tuna can be bought for 130 coins at The Shrimp and Parrot in Brimhaven, of which there are 5 in stock.
