Yak/Strategies

Yaks are weak monsters with high Hitpoints for their level, which makes them an ideal monster for training on. Their stats are similar to those of rock crabs, but they always drop yak-hide, which are used in Crafting.

Yaks are only found in Neitiznot. In order to access Neitiznot, and thus access yaks, players must have completed the Fremennik Trials quest and partially completed the Fremennik Isles quest. The yak pen is located just north-east of the Neitiznot pier.

Melee

Requirements

• 30+ , , and (recommended)
• The quest requirements as detailed above
• Decent weaponry and armour, preferably rune or better

Gear

• Do not bring degradable equipment, such as Barrows as it isn't worthwhile.
• An abyssal whip or a dragon scimitar is strongly recommended.
• Players who have access to the Warriors' Guild should bring a rune defender or dragon defender.
• Use of cheap, offensive potions, such as combat potions, is recommended as they boost experience rates.
• An amulet of strength is beneficial as defensive stats aren't overly important.
• Full melee Void Knight equipment is strongly recommended for the damage boost.

Ranged

Requirements

• 30+ and (recommended)
• The quest requirements as detailed above
• Decent weaponry and armour, preferably green d'hide or better

Gear

• Do not bring degradable equipment, such as Karil's set as it isn't worth it.
• Use of either Ava's accumulator or attractor is strongly recommended.
• Use of offensive potions, such as ranging potions, is recommended as they boost experience rates.
• Equip either mithril darts or knives.
• Equip a god book, preferably the book of law or unholy book.
• Full ranged Void Knight equipment is strongly recommended for the damage boost.
• A dwarf multicannon can be used here, but it is very expensive and is therefore not recommended.

Magic

Requirements

• 30+ and (recommended)
• The quest requirements as detailed above
• Decent weaponry and armour, preferably Splitbark or better

Gear

• Do not bring degradable equipment, such as Ahrim's set as it isn't worth it.
• An amulet of magic is beneficial as defensive stats aren't overly important.
• Use of offensive potions, such as magic potions, is recommended as they boost experience rates.
• Equip a smoke battlestaff and chaos gauntlets. Bring plenty of chaos runes, and autocast Fire Bolt.
• Equip a god book, preferably the book of darkness or unholy book.
• Full magic Void Knight equipment is strongly recommended for the damage boost.
